jasonpaper has found an alternative to the damn Bamboo $tylu$, it’s called TouchTec® Gen III Precision Touch, and it’s available on Amazon (see the link below). If you already use it, your feedback should interests us.
I had a Bamboo and it broke in a week. Then I ordered this and 2 months later it’s still going. The nib is basically the same as the Bamboo, and it’s less than half the price. Plus I like the longer pen, easier to hold…
If you want absolute precision buy the Adonit Jo (or Jot Pro). There is no better one than that one).
m2parquitetura’s Adonit feedback ( <— btw, you must see his sketches) :
I agree, the Bamboo stylus is very, very comfortable to sketch with, but the Adonit Jot-Pro has a best point and line precision, the only bad thing is that when I use it I try not harm the screen of the Ipad for its hard point. I just got mine, but I´m still a bamboo fan, despite the problems we have with it.

Well, three days after my order on wacom’s website, the 2x3 sets of Bamboo stylus nibs arrived by mail this morning. At least, it’s been quick.
I should be safe for the next 6 months…

Well, Bamboo stylus’ nibs are now available again at Wacom’s. The set of 3 costs 4.90€ + shipping (3.45€ to France) . I just ordered 2. Wacom got me… :/
Be aware that if you order it from England, it will cost the same …but in pounds : 4.90£, that is to say 6.10€ + shipping (3.45£) = 8.35£ (10.40€) instead of 8.35€.

When I got my new stylus, I wondered how long it could resist a daily use with paper. My previous one, died in about 5 days, but it was a cheap one, got for a few bucks on eBay.
Bamboo : 30 bucks a month
So I ordered a Bamboo stylus, from Wacom. 30€ (about 40$) for a piece of steel and conductive rubber was damn expensive, but this tool was said to be the best one, and supposed to last.
Well… My Bamboo stylus began to die today, after exactly one month of use… and only 8 sketches.
30 bucks and not a damn extra tip included in the stylus package. The rubber part is not completely dead, yet, but it’s a matter of hours now.
Out of stock
Moreover, finding a new one will be a pain : everyday, people visit “The Paper Lab”, after googling “bamboo stylus rubber tip replacement”, “rubber tips for bamboo stylus”, or even “i broke my stylus”. Now, I understand why. Wacom’s website is out of stock and spare available on eBay are sold from I-don’t-know-where, at least for 10$ the set of 3.
Considering all that, it’s definitely a shame. So go to hell, Wacom
